Let’s Talk GenAI: A Collaborative and Practical Introduction to Generative AI for UL Staff Online
Are you curious about using Generative AI and integrating it into your academic, professional, and research practices?
Collaborating with colleagues in CTL, the Academic Integrity Unit and ITD the Library is delighted to announce an upcoming short beginner-level Gen AI course for UL staff.
This self-paced online course, will take a themed approach, with daily discussions and tasks, will be delivered on Brightspace from May 13th to 17th, 2024. Participants will be introduced to some AI concepts, get an overview of some Generative AI tools, and receive guidance on getting started with prompt writing. Course participants will be invited to consider and discuss on the Brightspace discussion forums, the ethical and responsible use of AI, and explore ways in which Gen AI can be used critically and effectively to enhance our professional, academic and research roles.
Participants can engage with the course at their own pace daily between 10am and 4pm, expecting to commit approximately 30-60 minutes a day completing tasks and contributing to the discussion forums. This course is a highly collaborative learning experience with the emphasis on peer learning and discussion.
