Distinguishing fact from fiction, knowing what online sources to trust and spotting a FAKE are essential skills we all need, when we do research or go about our daily lives.  Join library staff from the University of Limerick for this lively, interactive and engaging seminar where your facilitators will guide you through the intricacies of mis (and dis) information and empower you to discern trustworthy online sources.

Come along to this seminar to hear about and discuss topics such as

  • The dynamics of mis and disinformation in the digital age
  • The spread of false information online  
  • Ways in which you can critically analyse the information you encounter online
  • How to fact-check and verify information
  • How to identify reliable, credible sources for accurate information 

Librarians Micheál O hAodha, Peter Reilly, Ailish Larkin, Michelle Breen, and Digital Learning Specialist Mags Phelan from the Glucksman Library at the University of Limerick work in the area of information management and critical evaluation and present this free seminar to help you navigate the complexities of the digital information landscape.

This free event is open to all and will be held in the UL City Campus as part of the Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival 2024.
We ask you to register as there is a limit on the number that can attend and we will need to provide you with directions and access information ahead of the event.
