Using Web of Science to enhance your literature searching Online

Clarivate trainer Rachel Mangan will begin by giving an Introduction to Web of Science Core Collection and then showing us:

  1. How to use new AI generated keywords to improve your search
  2. How to go beyond key word searching and discover hidden literature with the Citation Network 
  3. How to leverage article level classification using Citation Topics and SDGs for discovery
  4. How to find specific literature to meet your project needs using Enriched Cited References
  5. How to focus your literature search filtering by Top Papers and Citations
  6. How to understand trends in your topic with visualizations from Citation Report
  7. How to go beyond key word searching and discover hidden literature with the Citation Network 
  8. How to access open science publications using the OA filter
  9. How to extend your search to include high quality research literature alongside Preprints   
  10. How to set up alerts to be kept up to date with new research

     

    Our trainer Rachel Mangan has a background in science, languages and education, having studied both Biological Sciences and Spanish to degree level and spent several years in secondary education before joining Clarivate. Rachel joined Clarivate as a Customer Trainer in 2006. She has over 16 years experience driving usage and adoption of Clarivate discovery, analytical and workflow tools across the EMEA region. She has worked with many stakeholders in Research including end users, Librarians, Funders, Publishers and Government. Rachel shares a passion for information literacy and is a part of the community of responsible use of research information and analytics.

Michelle Breen is the Head of Learning & Engagement in the Glucksman Library.
