‘Locating Bench Marks, Preserving Heritage’ Launch Event Online
Ordnance Survey (OS) bench marks are part of our heritage and over time they have been lost to demolition, redevelopment and environmental change. LBPH aims to locate and photograph the remaining bench marks in County Limerick, estimate the loss of this important heritage, and move towards better recognition and protection of OS bench marks.
Join us for the launch of the community collection 'app' and website and learn how you can get involved in saving heritage in County Limerick.
The project is co-funded by The Heritage Council and the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Limerick. It is led by UL Geography with partners Limerick City and County Council, Tailte Éireann, Glucksman Library, UL, Digital Repository of Ireland, Mary Immaculate College and Maynooth University.
